The big city of Theni is a beautiful city surrounded by the first three divisions of Kurinji, Mullai, and Marutham among the five types of land mentioned in Tamil literature.
This city, which is the main commercial center of Tamil Nadu, was a small town 120 years ago. Later, Nadar clansmen who came from many towns of Tamil Nadu, especially Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Chatur, Thoothukudi, Nattathi, Usilampatti, Erisanatham, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli, settled in Theni and engaged in business. Among them are members of 18 families of Nattathi Nadars.
Allinagaram was the main town during that period. Theni is called the joint road. Cumbum Road, Periyakulam Road, Madurai Road, where the main sub-urban roads meet, there will be a few houses in the communal area, the eastern part of the Bangla house, next to the Cumbum Road, Periyamettu area.
Years of Experience
Then they bring goods in vehicles like bullock carts and stop by the road to do business. It was only then that the settlement began to increase in the area. After that, they came here from their mother village Allinagaram, and started settling here.
Since then, the Theni industry has become a booming area. The Nadar community played a major role in the development of Theni.
Apart from the Virudhunagar Nadars, all the Nadars from other areas came together to form an organization called Theni Melappettai Hindu Nadars Uravinmurai system. In the initial period, they implemented the PIDI ARISI scheme which was already in Virudhunagar in these areas also. That is, each trader and member decided to give the rice to the Sangam and keep it together and use it for the Sangam activities and implemented it and developed the relationship system better.
In 1942, there was an interest among the Nattathi Nadars to separate from the Theni Melappettai Hindu Nadars Uravinmurai system Association and set up a Uravinmurai system of their own. The elders of the Nattathi Nadar community, K.K. Seeniyappa Nadar's father Mr.K.Kandaswamy Nadar gathered in Theni for the first time at his residence and to establish the Nadar Uravinmurai. Under the leadership of Muthukumar Nadar on 26.06.1942 (262-50) two hundred and sixty-two rupees and fifty paisa were divided into shares and separately the Hindu Nadars of Theni Nattathi Kshatriyakula Hindu Nadar Uravinmurai started a society called Dharma Fund.
Development of the Uravinmurai system in the beginning, instead of rupees per majesty, a handful of rice was collected from each house. After that, the greatness of the collection grew into a big flood. Vacant land on Bangla Patti Street and a building on Bhagavathi Amman Kovil Street were purchased for the Sangam.
Men gave glory in money for the development of society. It is noteworthy that the ladies of our house provided PIDI ARISI and on Sundays when the weekly market is held in Theni, Nattathi Nadars who come from Usilampatti, Andipatti, Madurai, and other places to do business.
On 1.5.1954, the Nattathi Nadars uravinmurai organization met in the Sangam building they are Mr.S.M.S.A.Pandi was the secretary, and as the executive members are

In the year 1976, the members of the Nattathi family tried to open a sewing and embroidery training school for girls and to start an English school for LKG, UKG, classes 1 to 5. It was decided that we should not start a school as educational institutions have already been started by Theni Melappetti Nadar Sangam and are functioning well. Instead, it was decided that the hospital could be opened and on 23.1.1976, in a meeting chaired by Mr.R. Nagarajan, it was decided to build a hospital in the interest of providing medical assistance to the poor and simple people belonging to Theni and surrounding villages, regardless of caste, religion, ethnicity, at the place affected by Uravinmurai at N.R.T road. Based on that, the work was started.
In order to fulfill this objective, on 7.7.1976, Theni Melappettai Hindu Nadars, the head of the Uravinmurai, Under the leadership of Mr.M.S.V.Samikalai Nadar, Usilampatti Nadathi Kshatriya Kula Hindu Nadar Uravinmurai Head. On 3.2.1978 Under the leadership of Mr.EAK Aadhi Narayana Nadar, the building of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit was inaugurated by the Union Minister for Power, Hon'ble Prof. P. Ramachandran.

As the number of patients who came to know about the excellence of this hospital continued to increase, and because of the fact that if they wanted to undergo surgery, they had to go to districts including Madurai which were far away from Theni area, in order to receive all the treatments, a modern surgery unit with cooling equipment was completed on 1.7.1988 at a cost of two lakh rupees get it. Due to the growing population, the number of patients coming from surrounding areas has created a space crunch. Realizing this, the administration planned to expand the hospital further so that more people could come and go around the hospital.
